DIY Chalkboard Sign

Today my baby girl had her first day of preschool!  It didn't go without a few tears in the morning (from both her and mama) but by the end of the day she was all smiles.  Yay!

With the first day of school brought a few of my favorite things.  DIY digital art, photography, and experiencing milestones with my kids.  I had seen so many moms before me share their little one's first day of school pics and I was looking forward to starting this tradition as well.  Luckily my little miss humored me and held up the heavy frame for the obligatory first day of preschool photo.  :)

I've always loved chalkboard art and wondered do people just have incredible handwriting?  Cause I sure don't.  And especially not with chalk!  So since I have a background in digital design, I decided to go that route to create Shay's first day of school sign.  If you're looking to make chalkboard art like the one above, here is a pdf of a background that you can save by right clicking on it.  It's sized as an 8 x 10 and is ready to go.

And here are some of the fonts that I used.  They can be downloaded for free, here.  If you would like a customized chalkboard art piece for an event, or just to hang as wall art, email me!  When my Etsy store for digital designs is up and running, I will post a link to that as well.

  xo,
Carly
